Club Baseball

University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign

Springtime means baseball, which translates to a BIG need for team money. Especially for a student-funded team (in its first year, no less!) that needs cash to pay for equipment, umpires, field rental, hotels, gas and other incidentals.

Tasked with generating enough money to cover the team’s goals and make up the shortfall from their earlier debacle, the guys brought in CampusFundraiser. “We learned a lot from this program” says Oufielder Bolnick. “You taught us ways to motivate our players and ways to succeed. We will definitely use these techniques for all our other fundraisers.”

Determined to make more money than just $50 dollars a night working a concession stand, at the local arena, team leader Liz Gallo decided to make a change. She tells us “I learned about CampusFundraiser through an e-mail I received from another organization on our campus. I said 'hey let’s check this out' and I looked at it and liked it a lot!” After contacting CampusFundraiser and learning about the different fundraising ideas and programs available to her, she initially thought that it was too good to be true. “I thought there was a catch but there really wasn’t. I also noticed that they were working with me and being prompt about returning my phone calls.” As for the other 25 group members, although they were less than enthusiastic in the beginning, “After the fundraiser, they said that it was not as difficult as they expected and were extremely happy with the results.”
