Think fast – Would you rather rake leaves in a stranger’s yard or sell a magazine subscription?
That was the decision facing Ganae McAlpin. The Fighting Illini rugby player and her team mates typically raised money by cleaning people’s yards and homes. Oftentimes it wasn’t a pretty sight.
So Ganae was thrilled when a friend clued her in about CampusFundraiser’s magazine program. “We chose to work with CampusFundraiser because we really needed a way to make some real money for the team.” She says of her first experience with us. “We are going to play in the USA Rugby National Championship (Sweet 16) in Florida and possibly the Final Four in California.” – both great opportunities, translating into a need for BIG bucks to cover travel, hotels…the works!
Group leader McAlpin reports “We have a great group of girls who are willing to do whatever it takes for the good of the team.” – an obvious statement when you consider their willingness to rake leaves and work the concessions at the assembly hall.
Fortunately, the results of this program eliminated the need for rakes and sponges from the team members’ repertoire. “We raised almost $3,200 on this promotion,” says the excited senior. That’s the same as cleaning 75 houses, but without the dust. “We had a great experience with your staff, and found them willing to help us in any way they could.”
CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
