Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity University of Pittsburgh Fundraising Success with CampusFundraiser

“Who couldn’t use an extra $1,500?” asked James Kowatch of the University of Pittsburgh. Certainly nobody we know would turn down that kind of easy money. And with an increasing need for improvements at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house, these guys were motivated to do some serious fundraising.

Initially turned on to CampusFundraiser by past members of the fraternity, Jim was drawn to the Non-Sales Fundraising program by the flexibility, efficiency and quick turnaround it promised. “We also didn’t have to front any money to get started” Jim chuckles.

Of course, fundraising wasn’t always so easy for the brothers. “We’ve done other fundraisers before” he says “and we didn’t even earn enough to talk about. But the CampusFundraiser program looked good on paper and it appeared worth the minimal time to get it done.”

CampusFundraiser’s coaching staff played a big part in Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s success, from what Jim tells us. “The most important thing was having a representative there to explain what we had to do and how to get it done properly.” The rest of the success came from the enthusiasm provided by the fraternity brothers themselves: “They were happy to be working with our own brothers for a few hours on campus making money for our house.”

Just a couple of months after they started, Jim and his friends have paid off their old debts and even fixed up a few extra things around the house. Even more important than the money, though, is the increased sense of brotherhood that came from the time spent working towards a common goal. “It was almost a building exercise in itself.” Jim reports proudly “It was a great time for us as a group!

CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
