According to their web page "Alpha Sigma Alpha is a women's organization that exists to promote high ideals and standards for its members throughout their lives by emphasizing balance among the four aims of intellectual, physical, spiritual and social development. Alpha Sigma Alpha provides structure and guidance through:
-
Sisterhood, which is a strong bond of unconditional friendship based on common values and experiences;
-
Heritage, which is expressed through creed, ritual and history,
-
Opportunities for leadership and involvement in chapter, campus and community."
So when group leader Kristin, realized it was that time of year again she quickly turned to CampusFundraiser to help raise money. She knew that in order to keep providing for the sororities different philanthropies, along with keeping planned activities and to continue to keep dues low for members, CampusFundraiser was the only way to go. Kristen tells us “We chose to work with CampusFundraiser because we have been successful with them in the past.” In fact, the members of Alpha Sigma Alpha have made a total of $10,323.84 in six fundraisers.
Determined to again come out on top, the girls participated in the Family and Friends Magazine Program and were successful with their earnings of $1,820 in just 3 days! How did they do it? Leave it to Kristin to explain, “It was very rewarding to know that with a little work we could earn the money we needed. Going through CampusFundraiser was a very positive experience, and I would definitely do it again.” Also she adds “CampusFundraiser was extremely helpful throughout the planning and execution of the fundraisers, they were always available to assist me, whether it was via e-mail or our frequent scheduled and unscheduled phone calls.”
So what did the sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha decide to do with all the money they raised? They allocated funds to different parts of the sorority. This allowed them to give funds to their philanthropies which include the Special Olympics, S. June Smith Center and THON which is the largest Student Run philanthropy in the United States and helps the fight against childhood cancer.
These sorority sister's know the meaning of success and opportunity!
