The women of Santa Clara University’s Delta Gamma Sorority are a generous bunch. Determined to make a difference in the world, they established a fund providing aid for the sight-impaired.
Sadly, there is a great call for such support today and the Zeta Epsilon chapter found they needed a profitable fundraising idea to raise more cash than they had originally planned if they were truly going to help. “We’ve done finals care baskets and Chevy’s nights” reported group leader Michelle Curtis “But never a fundraiser like this one.”
After learning about our Family and Friends program, Michelle and her team set to work. “At first they worried they wouldn’t be able to each sell three magazine subscriptions” Michelle noted. But between the daily encouragement received from their CampusFundraiser coach and the growing sales volume from every member of the sorority, “They became excited.”
Now, with the work behind them, Michelle tells us: “Selling only three subscriptions was easy! And having it over in three days really helped. The amount of money we were able to earn was worth the work!”
Best of all, Delta Gamma earned more than they needed to re-fund their philanthropic fund. Their windfall came at a good time, and is allowing them to set up a memorial scholarship in memory of Jill Curran, a sister who passed away unexpectedly this year at age 20. Delta Gamma’s work with CampusFundraiser ensures an ongoing tribute to a friend they lost much too early.
Are these hard-working women satisfied with the results they generated this year? Says Michelle “We’ll definitely use CampusFundraiser next year!”
CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
