Leader of the Jaguar Gold Dancers at Southern University, Tyrone needed to raise $1,500 for a trip to this year’s Mardi Gras. “We needed some new equipment, and we needed a program that worked fast.” he tells us. With Mardi Gras coming just a week after the beginning of spring semester, that might be considered a bit of an understatement.

Tyrone knew a different approach from the past was needed. “Our annual ticket raffle and event hosting are very time-consuming.” he tells us. Even starting the fundraising in September was no guarantee enough would be raised by the February deadline – especially when you consider that previous fundraisers brought in a maximum of $600.

“We’d never tried a program like what CampusFundraiser offers” he says. “But I read the online success stories and knew I wanted our group to be like them.”

The members of the Jaguar Gold Dancers spoke at length with CampusFundraiser’s representative to get every question answered, including some they hadn’t even thought to ask. This laid the groundwork for the entire relationship. “These guys don’t just disappear once the contract is signed” Tyrone told his group. Never were truer words spoken.

So what’s Tyrone’s problem? “We made twice as much as expected.” he says with a smile. Now where do they spend it all?

Recalling the experience, he says “For the first time ever, we were able to buy our uniforms and accessories during the first week of school. We even had money left over to help us cover meals, transportation and some of our hotel expenses.”

Life is good!

Now the group has a bigger challenge – trying to figure out how soon they can do the next program with us. Says Tyrone; “We are going to make CampusFundraiser our first choice when considering a program and we will be using CampusFundraiser again very soon.”
