"I chose to work with CampusFundraiser because they are the best!"
Kappa Sigma Fraternity, University of Kansas Fundraising Success with CampusFundraiser!

“We haven’t spent all of the money yet, we made more than I thought we would!”  What a situation to be in!  After taking part in CampusFundraiser’s Family and Friends Magazine Fundraiser, the brothers of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Kansas are in just that situation!

Earlier in the semester, group leader Robert Lutz decided that his group was in need of a fundraiser.  The fraternity holds a large auction in the fall, as well as various activities around campus to generate revenue for the fraternity.  When they decided to try to find a way to fundraise faster and easier, while still generating a large amount of profit, Robert started searching for fundraising ideas, and found CampusFundraiser.

However, when he first read about it, he was skeptical.  “I thought there had to be a catch,” says Robert.  But after talking to the staff at CampusFundraiser, he realized that there really wasn’t a catch – everything he had read was true!

“I chose to work with them because they are the best,” smiles Robert.  “Easy to communicate with and organize a fundraiser with.  Not only did they give me day by day steps and ways to succeed, and it worked.”

It sure did work!  The brothers set themselves a goal that they thought was high - $2,000.  But in the end, they ended up walking away with $2,920!  Not only is that a lot of money for 3 days of work, but $920 higher than they needed to make!

Do they have any tips for success for other groups?  “I received coaching from a CampusFundraiser specialist who knew how to succeed and exactly what to do.  I followed their techniques very precisely to prepare my group, and was sure I communicated the info to them as well as CampusFundraiser had communicated it to me,” says Robert.  “The first point brought to me by the CampusFundraiser leader was motivation.  Without motivation we would have never made it to the mark.  I set goals for each day between team leaders and individual and group rewards for exceeding the 3 subscriptions per person.”  Hey, that’s a great idea!  And the best part is that it worked!

“I would rank CampusFundraiser at the top,” adds Robert.  “From the moment I was on the phone with a CampusFundraiser representative to the day we ended the fundraiser.  They helped us along the way, set goals, and motivated me to excel my group members.  I look forward to seeing new fundraisers posted, and possibly doing this in a couple years when our subscriptions wear out.”

So what did they do with all of that money?  Kappa Sigma Fraternity is huge on contributing to the community, and the brothers at the University of Kansas are no different.  They participate in many local events whose proceeds go to charities.  One of their current events donates money to Service for Sight, which helps blind people in the community “add color to a dark world”.  On top of all of the donations, they also used some of the money to go towards a social event at the end of the year with one of the local sororities.  And due to the fact that they made almost $1,000 over their goal, they still have a bunch of money left for future events.  We think one should be a celebration for a fundraiser well done!
