Phi Delta Theta Fraternity Eastern Kentucky University Fundraising Success with CampusFundraiser

Think Greek house and a stack of bills probably comes to mind…and for good reason, if Chad Hall’s experience is any kind of a guide.

Chad is group leader at Eastern Kentucky’s Phi Delta Theta – a house that has long dedicated itself to the loyalty of brotherhood and the betterment of the human condition. But altruism costs money, and sharing the good times costs even more. Unwilling to relinquish their philosophies, the brethren instead set out to raise some serious bucks to support their lifestyle.

“In the past we worked Cincinnati Bengal football games,” Chad reports. He notes how problematic this solution was, involving a 3-hour round-trip and less than $1,000 generated per game. And that doesn’t even get into the time involved working the game (another 3-4 hours); labor; gasoline; tolls; and coordination time. “Bengal games are crazy and busy,” he tells us.

But what was he to do? “We needed money to pay bills and get nicer stuff.” So the challenge became finding a way to earn the same money without having to work so hard. “Then we heard about CampusFundraiser,” he smiles.

“I liked that we didn’t have any up-front risk,” Chad recalls. “We wanted to test out a CampusFundraiser program and see if it was worth doing more than once.” And though his brothers didn’t want to participate in the event, they came to recognize this would be the easiest money they’d make in a long time. And so the commitment was made.

“Our campus representative gave us all a big help and supported us by staying longer to help us reach our goal and incentive points.” And what’s that translate to in real terms? “We set out to raise $1,000, and ended up with about $2,200 in just three hours.”

Let’s see – that translates to…um…carry the three…multiply by the number of days in a school year…subtract the number of cavities in my mouth…almost $170 for each participant! Can you imagine if they’d had 50 guys working in the program?

“We’ve paid our outstanding bills,” Chad tells us now “and we’ve got money set aside for next semester’s rush events.” Sounds like they’ve also started planning their next event with CampusFundraiser…and for good reason!

CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
