Cody Baumbach of Phi Kappa Theta will agree that one of the hardest things when hosting a fundraiser is generating a big enough interest in order make a sufficient amount of money. He and his fraternity brothers had two big flops with fundraising. The first event was a car wash, which did not generate enough interest and as a result of that, made no money as well. The second event was a cookie dough selling fundraiser which also did not work out because of the new health craze sweeping the nation. To make things worth, the start up costs required to host these events also dipped into their earnings. How would he change that around? CampusFundraiser!
Alumni had use CF in the past and passed it along to Cody and the new class of brothers. “I liked that there were no up front costs and the products were good enough to target any audience,” Cody explains. “The staff gave a lot of good ideas and tips. Last year we did not reach our goal but with the help and input from the staff we were able to achieve our goal this time around.” With the Friends and Family Magazine Fundraiser in full swing, Phi Kappa Theta raised over $1,000 to help support award banquets at the end of the year, and retreats at the end of the each semester.
“Take a chance, you have nothing to lose,” Cody adds. “You will end up being real surprised, and in the end, you will be way ahead of where you are right now.” Because of Phi Kappa Theta’s persistence and determination, finding money should not be a problem anymore.
