       When you own a house, it seems like there are always repairs that need to be done.  This can get very expensive, especially when the repairs are big repairs, such as a new floor for your basement or a new roof. 

            So when the brothers at Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Northern Illinois University realized that their house was in desperate need of these two things, they knew that they were too expensive for the brothers to pay for out of their own pockets.  A fundraiser was absolutely necessary.

            Fundraising chair Ryan Sneed started looking for fundraising ideas.  He said that in the past, they had struggled with fundraising, and were never able to make much money from it, so they needed a new idea.  When his friend told him about CampusFundraiser, he decided to give them a call.  After talking to a fundraising manager, he decided to sign up for the mtvU Non-Sales Fundraiser.  He said that he chose to do this because “it seemed like it was worth giving a try, and it didn’t put our house at risk of losing money.” 

            Not only did the chapter not lose money, but they raised $1,175 in just four hours!  They have since continued to use CampusFundraiser for their fundraising needs, and with three fundraisers have raised $4080 to go towards fixing up their house!

            They have already put some of the money towards getting a new floor for the basement, and will be getting a new roof this summer.  That will put an end to an old, broken basement floor and a leaky roof, all without going into the brother’s personal bank accounts!
