"Reliable and proven!"
Sigma Chi Fraternity, Butler University Fundraising Success with CampusFundraiser!

Sigma Chi is one of the largest and oldest social fraternities in the United States, and over 100 years ago one of their alumni defined fraternity as “an obligation, a necessity, an introduction, a requirement, a passport, a lesson, an influence, an opportunity, an investment, a peacemaker and a pleasure.”  This is still considered to be true today.  Unfortunately, something else has become an obligation, a necessity, and a requirement – fundraising.

The brothers of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Butler University needed to raise funds to make improvements to their house, as well as raise money for their pledge party, so they looked at their options.  They could do the usual food sales or car washes, or they could call CampusFundraiser.  Having done a fundraiser with CampusFundraiser the previous year, and raising $2,180, they knew that was their best option.  As group leader Ross Gunden says, the other fundraisers are “definitely not as efficient or successful.”

They soon found out that a fundraiser can be more than an obligation, a necessity, and a requirement – it can also be a lesson, an influence, and an opportunity, as well as an investment.  Ross says that the staff at CampusFundraiser was “very helpful” and “was in constant contact and really cared about our success.”

This time around, the brothers ended up making $1,181 in just four hours with the mtvU Non-Sales Fundraiser.  That should certainly be enough to help the pledge class and make some decent improvements on the house!

So what about a fundraiser being “a pleasure”?  Ross states that “it was a lot of fun to get everyone united for a common goal and interesting to see how hard everyone tried,” as well as “it was memorable and something I am glad I did.”
