“I had heard the success stories from other groups working with CampusFundraiser, but I never believed it would be so fast and easy” says Jessica Shaffer.

As group leader for Central Michigan University’s Sigma Kappa, Jessica is tasked with keeping a constant flow of funds coming in for improvements to the sorority house. This is no small feat when you consider that nobody in the group has had any previous background in fundraising.

Jessica and her sisters explored all the usual suspects for making money, of course. One by one the fundraising ideas – car washes, candy bar sales, wrapping paper sales, and the like – all went by the wayside as being too labor-intensive without enough payoff.

Then they heard about CampusFundraiser.

“Our sisters were really very excited to participate in this program”. she smiles, remembering how many people they got to meet in such a short time. “This fundraiser gave us a chance to really show what the women of Sigma Kappa can do when we put our minds to it.”

At the end of the day the money was the important thing, of course. And a group looking to raise $2,000 has their hopes set pretty high. So you can imagine their delight at earning almost $3,000 from their three hours of work.

The Sigma Kappa house is now in MUCH better shape than it was a mere semester ago, thanks to the combined efforts of the sisters and CampusFundraiser. We’re glad we were able to help them reach their goals.
