When the Women’s Rugby team at American University needed money, Kristen Walling came to CampusFundraiser!  Kristen and her teammates participated in the Friends and Family Magazine Fundraiser two years ago and were extremely successful raising $1,600.00 in just a few days.  After such a huge success, there is no where to go but up.  It didn’t work out that way.

The Women’s Rugby team was sick of selling various kinds of foods late at night and washing cars because of the high start up costs and labor that is required.  Since there were so many other groups trying to do the same thing, making money was becoming increasingly difficult.  What did they do to get back on track?  Kristen came back to CampusFundraiser!  Because of their past success and no start up costs, Kristen felt this was the only way they would make money without losing any.  This time around, the Women’s Rugby team raised $2,340.00 in just days!!  Kristen admits “I was nervous we wouldn’t make our quota but I know that either way we would be making money.”  It turns out that Kristen and her teammates surpassed their goal and raised a lot more money then they were aiming for.

Due to the increase in team members, traveling expenses are much higher then before.  The money raised would help pay for the increase in travel related expenses and assure that the team can operate smoothly.  Kristen adds “This was an easy project to put together and it was definitely worth it.  It raised a lot of money in a very short period of time.”  If easy means earning over $2,000.00, then what is there to lose?
