Ahh, Spring training. The excitement! The fun! The… expenses?
Every member of a college baseball or softball team looks forward to their yearly trip to Florida for Spring Training. However, as exciting as it is, this time can be hard students due to the expenses associated with it. In her senior year at Clark University, Lauren Ackein, who is in the top 3 of her team for batting average, slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, hits, runs batted in, and doubles, did not want to miss out on Spring Training due to the fact that it was so expensive. She also knew that she was not the only one who was finding the costs associated with spring training hard to swallow, so she went to her coach and brought up the issue.
Her coach, who has been the head coach of the Clark University Varsity Softball team for 19 years now, has seen her players try many different fundraisers. The most recent ones were small, such as raffles, and were never very successful, so she did not want the girls to waste their time. She remembered receiving an e-mail from CampusFundraiser, a company that claims to offer fundraising options of college groups without any cost to the student. She told Lauren that the e-mail said that the fundraisers were fast as well, which was a huge plus, because she didn’t want to have to give up valuable practice time to run a fundraiser. So Lauren decided to give them a call, and find out if everything they said was true.
When Lauren called, she found out that everything her coach had read in the e-mail was true! “The introductory online session was quick and easy, the offers looked manageable, and the CampusFundraiser representatives were very informative and helped me through the whole process,” remarks Lauren. After talking to the representatives at CampusFundraiser, Lauren decided to sign her team up for the Family and Friends Magazine Fundraiser.
“The fundraising kit I was sent was easy and fully equipped!” Lauren says. It must be easy, because three days later, the girls were $1,770 richer. That’s way more than the girls could have made holding any raffle, and with not nearly as much time or energy invested.
CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
