For years, the Women’s Rugby Club at the University of Minnesota at Duluth has provided a setting for young women to learn and enjoy the sport of rugby. Every odd year, during spring break, the Women’s Rugby Club takes a rugby tour overseas. For spring break 2007 the group is going across the pond to the place where the game originated, England. Of course, this means having to raise lots of money. With no outside funding, the club has always relied on their own efforts to raise the funds they needed.

The Duluth Women’s Rugby Club has been fundraising with CampusFundraiser since spring 2003. So, the club is no stranger to CampusFundraiser’s proven programs, earning $4,392 to date! This made choosing to work with CampusFundraiser an easy decision for group leader, Maggie McMahon. “CampusFundraiser, pushed us to make our goal…..It’s a great way to make money in a positive way”, says Maggie. This time around, using the mtvU Non-sales Fundraiser, the club earned $1,225. The club still has a long way to go to get to the amount they need for their trip, but there’s an ancient proverb that rings true, “The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones”.
