You might do a fundraiser to get better equipment. Or to cover expenses not paid for by the school. Or to hold a banquet at year-end. In the case of JHU’s Women’s Soccer Team, the correct answer was D – all of the above.
Group leader Jenn Sciarpelletti’s tale was a familiar one, filled with frustration and financial need. “Our coach requires each player to give a list of 20 family and friends who might donate to our program” she told us. It had become an annual ritual that not all players were comfortable with. Between their growing discomfort at hitting the same people for money over and over, and a recent trip to the United Kingdom (and the bills that came with it), “we realized the importance of fundraising on a yearly basis”.
Jennifer and her friends did a little fast research and discovered CampusFundraiser’s website. “we were all impressed with the quick response time to the information we sent in” she tells us now. This reaction helped overcome the skepticism of some group members, showing them they had nothing to lose and “it was only up to us how much money we earned.”
Equally impressive to the team was our flexibility to their needs on – and off – the soccer field. “We completed this fundraiser during the most hectic yet exciting part of our season and (CampusFundraiser) understood that our first priority was winning soccer games. This flexibility allowed us to be successful in both the fundraiser and our conference tournament.”
Jenn and her friends are very pleased with the results they got from the Family and Friends magazine fundraising program. “It was an easy, flexible way to earn money for our group.” She says with a smile “I would thoroughly recommend it.”
CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
