The Women’s Water Polo team at James Madison University claims to be the “The hottest team in the CWPA”, and they would love to show everyone why. However, it’s hard to prove it when you don’t have money for tournament entry fees, transportation, and hotels. The team has tried many different ways to raise money in the past, including bake sales, t-shirt sales, and stadium clean ups. Group leader Emily Cosse says that “The stadium clean ups were good money, but they always took a long time and required everyone to be available to help.”
Frustrated with fundraisers that produce low profits or require a lot of time, Emily remembered that in the previous year they had done a fundraiser with a company and had made $1675 in very little time at all. She talked to last year’s fundraising chair and found out that the company was CampusFundraiser, and decided to give them a call.
After talking to the staff at CampusFundraiser, Emily decided on the Family and Friends Magazine Fundraiser. This fundraiser did not require all of her team to be available at the same time, which was a fundraising problem in the past. Over just three days, the JMU Women’s Water Polo team was able to raise $1590!
With the money raised, the team will be able to enter tournaments around the country, so you better watch out – the JMU Women’s Water Polo team may be coming to a tournament near you to prove that they are, in fact, the hottest team in the CWPA.
CampusFundraiser can help your group successfully raise money too. Find out how.
